Victor Leon Jenkins was born on Sunday, December 17, 1970, to Norma Jean and the late Victor Jenkins. He departed this life on Thursday, September 21st at the Rocky Mount Rehabilitation Center. At the age of 16, Leon was baptized in the name of Jesus by the late Bishop C.W. Hairston and was a member of the Jerusalem Way of the Cross Church. After graduating from Franklin County High School, Leon attended Culinary School in Baltimore, Maryland. Cooking was his passion, and he was Good at it! (A talent he must have received from his mother –as she is known as Jerusalem’s “A#1 Caterer and Cake Baker”). Another passion of Leon’s was working with children. He enjoyed helping the neighborhood children with homework, loved feeding them, playing with them and making sure they stayed out of trouble. He also enjoyed coaching Basketball teams for the local Recreation Department. On Friday, September 23, 2016, Leon had an unfortunate accident. Although, at times, it was a struggle, the Lord blessed Leon to endure. He fought a Good Survival Fight and was able to live the past 7 years at the Rocky Mount Rehabilitation Center.
Sometimes it is hard to understand Why some things have to be. But in His wisdom, God has planned Beyond our power to see. So, looking back in tenderness along the path we trod, We cherish the years we had with “Leon” and leave the rest to God. Lovingly Submitted, The Family
