On December 18,2025, God entered Helen Newbill's home in Stock Bridge, Ga. and whispered into her ear" It's time for you to come to your heavenly home." at that time she entered eternal rest.
She was born on January 15,1936, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher and Bettie Davis.
Helen was baptized at a young age and served the Lord from that day on. She attended several different churches until her health failed her. She had a few favorite songs 1. I'm Coming Up on the rough side of the Mountain, 2. Cooling Waters by Lee Willams and 3 . No Tears in Glory by Rev. F.C. Barnes. She also loved to chew gum, listen to gospel music, watch westerns with her nephew Toby and cook.
Helen acquired very little education having been taken out of school in the second grade to become a homemaker. She was then challenged with the task of doing what she loved most and that was babysitting. This was a career for her, and it started with her younger siblings, going on to her nieces and nephews whom she really loved then it was everyone's kids across the county.
Helen never had any kids of her own but, to her all the kids she ever kept were considered hers. She was the world's best. She never treated any child any different from another and she kept all races of children. She was what one would say the "Pillar of the community". She never met a stranger and never let anyone go hungry. Helen during this time also started helping take care of adults. Even when she couldn't get around good herself, she still was determined to help someone else. Always putting others first. She absolutely loved EVERYONE.
She is also preceded in death by four brothers, (Burkley) Burt, George, James (JP) and Clarence (Bruh) Davis, two sisters Beatrice Preston and Louise Morrison and a close friend Ellen Cook.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister Virginia Wright of Pittsburgh, Pa and one sister n law Betty Davis of Rocky Mount, Va. A host of nieces, nephews, friends, a very devoted caregiver (when she lived in Va.), Lenora Witcher, whom she cared a lot for, a special niece and nephew William (Toby) (aka her side kick) and Matilda Clarke who became her very committed and devoted caregivers during her last two years on earth.
