Glenn Autry “Pulo” Cook September 3, 1943 - February 14, 2026
Glenn Autry Cook, affectionately known as “Pulo”, entered his eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at his home on Circle Creek Road in Penhook, Virginia. He was born on September 3, 1943 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Rosie B. Cook.
At an early age, Pulo professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Greater Mt. Parrish Missionary Baptist Church in Penhook. He also attended Round Pound Baptist Church in Sandy Level, Virginia. He received his education in Pittsylvania County Public Schools. For many years, he was employed at various jobs in Virginia before relocating to Texas and from there to Pennsylvania. Upon his return to his hometown in Penhook, he was employed by Gencor & Associates in the electrical business prior to his retirement.
Pulo loved gardening, fishing and hunting, particularly deer hunting with his daughter, Zsa Zsa, and her friend, Andy. He enjoyed preserving (canning) his wild game and vegetables at the Glade Hill cannery where he could laugh, talk and share his experiential advice with others there and help in any way that he could with whatever they were canning. Another of his favorite pastimes was sitting, talking, laughing and sharing memories while visiting with family members and friends.
In addition to his mother, Pulo was preceded in death by his daughter, Edith Cook; his grandson, Martavious Cook; six brothers, Jack, Dennis, Pete, Arthur, David “Buster”, and Therman Cook; and two sisters, Edith Cook and Pauline Cook Price.
Pulo leaves to cherish his love and memories two daughters, Zsa Zsa Clark (Andy Strawn) of Effort, Pennsylvania and Courtney (Clyde) English of Roanoke, Virginia; four sons, Matthew Cook of Afton, Virginia, Shannon (Brittany) Cook of Roanoke, Jason Cook of Atlanta, Georgia and Coderia Henderson of Wytheville, Virginia; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Preston of Boones Mill, Virginia; one brother, Zebedee (Alma) Cook of Penhook; one sister-in-law, Frances (Zate) Cook of Fort Washington, Maryland; a sister/niece, Barbara (Ervin) Dickerson of Axton, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
