On Jan 18 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Essie (LaShawn) Luciana Turner felt God’s warm embrace and entered heaven's gates.
Shawn was born on Apr 08, 1977, in Franklin County Va to Nina V Cainion and the late Howard L Pinkard Sr. Shawn was a 1996 graduate of Martinsville High School, where she earned the rank of Battalion Commander her senior year.
In 2008 Shawn moved to Florida and was employed by Pinellas County Memorial Hospital
She was a faithful member of Miracles In Motion and loved her church family dearly.
Shawn loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a loyal fan. She loved to cook, her speciality was Banana Pudding and some of her favorite sayings are who made the potato salad and touch your nose.
Shawn is preceded in death by paternal grandparents John and Ruth Richardson, maternal grandparents Elder John Bennie & Essie Bell Patterson and nephew Brandon R Pinkard.
Those left to cherish her memory are two beautiful children (daughter) Kylan D Turner, (son) Christian M Turner, (mother) Nina V Cainion (Daniel), (brothers) Howard L Pinkard Jr (Cheryl), Daniel Cainion Jr. (Shirley), Ryan Cainion (Michelle), Bruce Cainion (Erica), Aaron Cainion (Stepfather) James A Pettway, (God Brother) Trevia Hailey(God Sister), Mary and Doug Moore (Godparents), Travis Treadway (Sarah), (God Sister) two special friends Amy Cook, and Melanie Brown and a host of loving aunts,uncles, cousins, and friends.
God saw that you were getting weary So he did what he thought best He came and stood beside you and whispered Come home and rest.
