Curtis Lee Toney

Curtis Lee Toney, 69, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 11, 2026, with his loving daughter, Shea, by his side. He was born on May 27, 1957, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late George William and Shirley Keys Toney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Toney; his niece, Shea Belcher; and his nephew, Kane Belcher.

Curtis was a jack of all trades. He loved working with his hands, helping others, making people laugh, and bringing joy to everyone with a joke or two. Above all, Curtis loved spending time with his daughter, grandson, and other family members.

He is survived by his, wife, Melendia Darlene Toney; daughter, Lakita Shea Toney-Hearns (Memi); his grandson, Eimmij Webb; and his five sisters, Sally (Gordon) Belcher, Blondell (Robert) Jamison-Mack, Sarah Campbell, Audrey Smith and Carla Manns Rorrer. He is also survived by his two brothers, Larry Jamison and Calvin Toney; two uncles, Maceo Toney and Ronnie Toney; and a host of nieces, nephews, a special great niece, Munshae, other loved ones, a special friend RudieMurrell, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
