Christopher Dwayne Richardson was born in Franklin County, Virginia on May 14, 1968 to the late John James Richardson (“Jean”) and Ruth Mae Pinkard Richardson. Surrounded by family on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 5:25 p.m. at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, God whispered for Chris to come home. Chris, lovingly known as “Beatum/Beelum” and “Uncle B”, was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Lewis Pinkard and Alfonso John Richardson.
Chris accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, Virginia. He was not only a servant to the Lord, but he also loved his community deeply. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures such as cooking, fishing, visiting friends, and listening to music. Chris brought jokes and humor to every conversation, and he would be the first person to dance once the music began. He was a tireless helper to all who needed a hand—never asking for recognition.
His life will be cherished by his daughter, Keyerra Richardson of Washington, DC; three siblings, Russell Richardson, Melendia Toney, and Elizabeth (Buford) Wade, all of Rocky Mount, Virginia; two loving aunts, Janalden P. Taylor of Hardy, Virginia and Joyce Casey of Roanoke, Virginia; two special neighbors, Shirley Williamson and Cecil Mackenhimer, both of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Chris laughed with most, was loved by many, and will be deeply missed by all.
